Kofi is a Registered Professional Biologist (R.P.Bio.) with over 10 years’ experience focused on environmental management and Environmental Assessment practice. He holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Environmental Science from Memorial University of Newfoundland. He has managed environmental approvals and monitoring programs, developed/ implemented environmental management plans, and provided technical advice on Environmental Assessments to industry and regulatory agencies regarding natural resource and infrastructure projects in multiple jurisdictions in Canada. He has also previously been involved in boreal ecology research programs with Parks Canada.
Prior to joining the NIRB in July 2016, Kofi held various environmental management positions in the mining industry and in consulting. Kofi also previously worked with the NIRB as a technical advisor, and is looking forward to working with the NIRB team and sister Institutions of Public Government in implementing recent regulatory changes in Nunavut. Outside of work, Kofi enjoys hikes on the land, a good book, and a game of basketball in the community.
