Dear, Tannis Bolt,

The answers are as below,

1. Yes. Our project at the present is fixed until 2016 (as the first phase). Therefore, it is promised that we visit
there annually by 2016. And our team are willing to continue our project as long as possible. For this year, our
schedule is almost fixe to go there. Therefore, I can write down the exact or prompt date to arrive on the
application.

2. This means that we will use a bottle sterilized to collect water. We will collect 6L of streamwater from July to
October (until it snows).

And I have one question about the collecting lichen samples. Some of our members are studying
the geographical distribution of lichens and the diversity of lichens in the circumpolar region. They have plan to
collect lichens there not only our specific site but also around Cambridge Bay. Is there any possibility to explain
about it? Since our project is foucsed on the monitoring in atmospheric sciences and terrestrial ecosystems, I
somehow did not consider that much about lichens. It's quite difficult to organize, because I'm not fimiliar with
it.

Thank you again for your helps.

Best,

Sunny

Good morning Sunny,

Thank you for your prompt reply.

I am working through the last details of your file, and I need a couple more points of clarification.
1.	Are you planning on visiting Cambridge Bay annually until 2016? I noticed in the application to
the Nunavut Research Institute that you give specific dates for 2012, then say up to 2016.
2.	In your project summary you specify that water will be collected with a “specific sampler”. Can
you clarify your collection method and the quantity of water you will be collecting.

Thanks again,

Tannis

Dear Tannis Bolt,

Below you can have a look at the answers about your questions.

1. we will rent a car to get from twon to our sampling sites, but using only a road near our sites. It is just less
than 50m apart from the road to our research sites. Therefore, we just transport our equipments to the right
sites on foot.

2. We will operate our equipments with batteries. Since we study about the CO2 flux, we do not want to use
any fuel powered generators. But for operation of our atmospheric ones, we would like to use an electric power
supply source 10-20m apart from the tower.

I hope these make you clear and thank you for your cooperation.

All the best,

Sunny

Dear Ok-Sun,

I am currently screening your Nunavut Research Institute application for a Scientific Research Licence
and I have a couple of questions before I can finalize my review of the file.

1.	Will you be using any mechanized vehicles to get from Cambridge Bay to your sampling sites?
2.	Will you be using fuel at any time during your research? For example, will you require a fuel
powered generator to run any of your equipment?

I will have a notice to the public and comment request distributed once I receive the additional
information.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.
