North Country Gold Corp. (NCGC) hereby proposes a request for amendment to 'Permit to use the Commissioners’ Land' LUP-06-600-013. The permit, authorized since September 7, 2012 and currently valid until September 7, 2017, is renewable annually and subject to environmental, spill response and reporting terms and conditions put in place by Nunavut departments of Environment (DOE), Community and Government Services (CGS), and Nunavut Impact Review Board (NIRB).
NCGC requires an area within Rankin Inlet for the temporary storage and staging of materials to support exploration activities at the company’s Committee Bay Project – located approximately 400 km north of Rankin Inlet. This area will be used to store fuel and materials arriving during the summer sealift until the following spring when an ice airstrip is constructed at the Committee Bay Project and supplies can be airlifted to site.
