Military training will be staged from the Canadian Armed Forces Arctic Training Centre (CAFATC) located in Resolute Bay, NU. Twenty soldiers will arrive on 6 March 2017 with the remainder arriving on 18 March. On 20 March all soldiers, along with 26 Canadian Rangers, will move north overland via Ski-Doo to the north east portion of Cornwallis Island where a temporary tented camp will be established. This camp will be located close to Eleanor Lake which will subsequently be used for the landing of aircraft of DC 3 type or smaller. On 21 March groups of 30 soldiers will move by air or ski-doo to three additional locations (Eureka, Gascoyne Inlet and Polaris). These groups return to the Eleanor Lake camp and spend one more night at there before moving overland via ski-doo to Resolute on 25 March. The final day of training will occur east of Resolute with the conduct of a rifle range. Once the rifle range is completed on 26 March, all personnel will return to CAFATC.
