Project Summary
Joint Task Force (North) (JTFN) will conduct Operation NUNALIVUT 2017 from 13 February to 17 March, 2017 based out of Resolute Bay and Hall Beach, Nunavut.
It will consist of approximately 290 CAF personnel, and may feature observation by international partners. To facilitate the conduct of OP NU 17, JTFN will establish a Task Force Headquarters in Hall Beach consisting of approximately 30 members with an additional 25 support personnel.
A Canadian Army Company will be supported by members of 1 CRPG for a total of approximately 175 personnel. Patrols will be performed on the sea ice in the vicinity of Hall Beach, conducting training in Arctic survival skills and patrol Canadian Territory. The Company plans to conduct a live fire exercise and for training purposes only, to deploy unmanned aerial vehicles near Hall Beach.
A Dive Team consisting of approximately 60 personnel from the Royal Canadian Navy will be conducting dive operations on the sea ice near Resolute, NU.
