Project Summary
We would like to spend four weeks trying to film killer whales and narwhales using drones in Admiralty Inlet. This will be from boat and from shore. This is for a Netflix wildlife documentary series about how the Arctic is changing. We would be a crew of 3-4 people from Silverback Films in England, plus local skippers, first mates and bear guard employed from the local community. We would need to be based from a temporary field camp on the west side of Admiralty Inlet, where the boat would also be stored each night. Arctic Bay HTA have suggested an area around Yellow Valley. This would be mid-August to mid-September 2024. We will not film any local hunting activity, and will leave the area if hunters arrive to hunt. We would fly the drone so as not to disturb the narwhales or killer whales, and have experience filming both of these species without disturbance on previous shoots. Our goal would be to film the killer whales hunting the narwhales.
