NOTE : The snow sampling component of the project has been cancelled due to the postponement of the expedition. As a result, no snow will be collected. The activity is now limited to a ski traverse and camping along the route.The project will be carried out by two people. Camping equipment includes a polar expedition tent (approximately 4 metres in diameter). The team will travel entirely by ski and carry all equipment in sleds.Fuel requirements are limited to standard gasoline, which will be purchased locally in Nunavut and transported in two fuel jerrycans. This fuel will be used exclusively for cooking and basic camp needs.No machinery will be used during the expedition. There will be no generators or motorised equipment. Energy needs will be covered by portable solar panels used for small electronic devices (navigation, communication, cameras).No sampling equipment will be carried, as the scientific component related to snow collection has been removed from the project.
