Viren Nasit

Viren Maheshbhai Nasit was born in Surat, Gujarat, India, and holds a Master of Applied Science in Environmental Systems Engineering and Management from Memorial University of Newfoundland, as well as a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. He is an Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) and Environmental Professional-in-Training (E.P.T.). Viren joined the Nunavut Impact Review Board in 2025 as a senior Impact Assessment Officer. Before joining the NIRB, he worked in water operations with Elk Valley Resources and supported wastewater treatment processes at Longboard Architectural Products. He also gained laboratory and sample management experience at AGAT Laboratories and previously worked in the environmental and chemical engineering field in India, focusing on environmental assessments, chemical process operations, and wastewater treatment optimization. His graduate research focused on environmental monitoring, impact assessment, and environmental policy, which strengthened his interest in northern regulatory processes. Outside of work, Viren enjoys historical movies, exploring food, and learning about northern culture.
